Home Tour: Soothing Lowcountry Southern Charm

I know this is the second tome hour I’ve shared with you this week from the February edition of Southern Living, but trust me this is one you don’t want to miss. I think we can all agree that the work of Sarah Bartholomew is flawless and what better way to kick off a Friday then getting to see more of her work?! I had seen photos here and there from this project she completed last summer, but I hadn’t seen the home in it’s entirety…until now.  Imagine my joy when I opened my February edition of Southern Living!

In today’s tour, Bartholomew transforms a newly built Palmetto Bluff home with her signature serene palette, effortlessly elegant style and masterful editing. The home is a lowcountry farmhouse style and Bartholomew wanted to make sure that the interior was soothing, evoking the timeless charm and splendor of Palmetto Bluff.  It’s safe to say she achieved a soothing feel because the home is positively radiating with a sense of comfort and ease but also polish and grace.

Bartholomew extends a blue and white theme throughout the house and masterfully balances a unique blend of rustic and weathered elements with traditional furniture and antiques, as well as modern art. The result is nothing short of perfection and if you haven’t gotten the latest edition of Southern Living, you need too! Just be warned you will pour through it multiple times- it is just THAT beautiful! Have a great weekend!

P.S. If you would are interested in the Southern Living floor plan, you can find the one for this home here.

The floorpan of this low country style home is from Southern Living was designed by the Court Atkins Group, with William Court as lead architect.
Botanicals and pops of green lend an extra sense of freshness to this cozy blue and white living room.

Contemporary end chairs and art pair seamlessly with the shiplap walls and rustic light fixture.

Bartholomew creates an unexpected bonus living space with this breezy sitting area off the living room.

The perfect bedroom for breakfast in bed.
This bathroom is the epitome of soothing. The freestanding tub and accent furniture create a polished retreat, while the bright cornflower blue trim on the roman shades guides the eye upwards making the room feel bigger.

If you need me I’ll be here daydreaming about sitting on this porch
swing …with a glass of white wine. The perfect Friday afternoon spot.

A major unifying element in this beautiful home is the window treatments. They are simple, elegant and consistent. They aren’t very noticeable, but the home wouldn’t be the same without them. Love your posts!
