Get the Look: Bespoke Bed Linens

I think we can all agree there are few places in our home more sacred than our bedrooms. They are our sanctuaries and safe havens that await us at the end of the day. Our bedrooms are where we go to decompress and relax, to dream and sometimes hide. This is why I am always so surprised when homeowners say they are planning to decorate their bedroom last. Maybe your guests won’t see it when they come over to visit but it will be the first and last thing you see everyday. Not to mention that having a peaceful (and complete) bedroom gives you the space you need to recharge and refresh which ultimately helps gives you the inspiration (and patience) for decorating the rest of the house.

I am a strong believer that there are two things you shouldn’t skimp on when designing your bedroom: window treatments and linens. If you can invest in nice linens, don’t think twice, just do it. Is there anything more luxurious than snuggling into bedding that is not only soft but beautiful? I understand that not every one (including myself) can afford an entire bed of designer linens, but if you are savvy and mix and match, you can attain a chic, but affordable look. For example, combine a classic white coverlet from Pottery Barn, white shams at Target and then a nice additional set of shams with embroidered trim or monogramming to give your bedroom that bespoke we all want.

In our master bedroom I have combined three bedding collections. I have this duvet cover folded at the end of the bed (for me because my husband sleeps with no blanket and the fan on even when its six degrees outside) and the matching Euro shams in the natural color. I paired them with these king shams (also in image above) and this coverlet. I like things to coordinate but not be too matchy matchy.

I am a monogram addict when it comes to bedding and we have a bolster pillow similar to this with a monogram in a coordinating neutral color. I didn’t link our exact pillow because I had a horrendous experience with the vendor and unfortunately cannot recommend them. I have worked with this shop in the past and have nothing but positive things to say about this pillow. It looks almost exactly like the one we have on our own bed.

If you are in the market for new bedding or just want to daydream, here are a few of my favorite bedding collections.
