A Chic Hamptons Beach House

Happy Memorial Day! Who wouldn’t love to be spending the long holiday weekend in the Hamptons? I know I would! So today I’m featuring a beautiful 20th century shingle style home in the Hamptons, reimagined by architect Peter Pennoyer and designer Matthew Patrick Smyth. The interiors are an homage to classic American design with clean lines, warm neutral tones, and natural elements. Contemporary accents add a crispness to the home, yet keep it feeling warm and welcoming- it’s truly the perfect beach get away!

P.S. For sources and the original tour, you can find it in Architectural Digest, here.

Pops of chartreuse and purple add a sophisticated pop of color to the formal sitting room

The cozy alcove is unexpected and inviting, serving as an additional seating space

In the dining room, a colorful assortment of books are nestled inside the built ins creating a sense of casual comfort, while the contemporary light fixture sand block print fabric on the chairs add just the right touch of modernity

An antique sink in the breakfast room is the perfect spot for potting plants and creating fresh floral arrangements, with beautifully styled shelves above that make vase storage and gardening tools just within arms reach

The kitchen has clean, fresh lines and the contemporary light fixtures and cabinets add brightness and casual elegance

Such a pretty breakfast nook!

The architectural detail of the staircase leading to the bedrooms is gorgeous and the porthole windows add just the right touch of whimsy

A gracious master bedroom is the definition of easy elegance and has two lovely nooks that highlight the coastal views and allow light to pour into the room. I could stay here all day!

The soft blues and greens are lovely paired with the rich chocolate accent chair and headboard. Two circular mirrors echo the design of porthole windows on the staircase, which is also repeated in the wallpaper

The perfect spot to unwind after a beach day and the moroccan mirrors and rug add a dash of global glamour.

The color of the ceiling is fabulous and makes the blue of the ocean and the seat cushions pop!

The backyard is the epitome of Hampton’s style living

Thank you for stopping by and I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

XO,

Sophie
