Today I’m thrilled to be featuring the work of Missy Steffens, Owner and Principal Designer of Memphis design firm M. Steffens Interiors. The moment I saw Missy’s portfolio, I instantly knew I wanted to feature her on the blog. Steffens’ interiors are timeless and elegant, rooted in Southern tradition and composed of clean, classic lines with a thoughtful and balanced blend of old meets new.
From a young age, Steffens’ remembers being surrounded by beautiful architecture, antiques and attending plenty of art shows, to which she attributes her love for all things design. While getting her Masters in Art History from Vanderbilt, she wrote her thesis on the furniture of Charles and Ray Eames – midcentury modernists that blended form and function. It was through their furniture that she learned “function and form can coexist” and she strives to bring that concept into her designs daily. Her fresh aesthetic, neutral palettes and mix of antiques with art create homes that are serene and comfortable with an understated sophistication. I hope you love her work as much as I do!
P.S. I have included a few ideas of how to get a similar look in your own home at the end of the post and here
