Small Business Spotlight: Hôtesse by Anne Wagoner

Small Business Spotlight: Hôtesse by Anne Wagoner

I have admired the interiors of Anne Wagoner for ages so when I learned she was starting her own small business, Hôtesse, a collection of thoughtful and timeless hostess gifts, I knew her shoppe was going to be exceptional. From tortoise tumblers and intaglio hand soaps to coasters and beautiful bud vases all of her gifts are divine.

In today’s day and age it’s so easy to get lost in the hustle bustle that sentimental and gracious gestures like hostess gifts and handwritten letters are sadly starting to fall to the wayside. We all know how much work goes into hosting a soiree- prepping the food, stocking bar, styling the tablescape…the list goes on and on. So as a hostess, when we receive a hostess gift, it is always a gesture that is heartfelt and truly appreciated especially since it is becoming such a rarity these days.

In my opinion, the very best part about Hôtesse is that their shoppe was curated keeping in mind the lives of modern hosts and guests alike. They’re not only elegant but they come impeccably gift wrapped, with your own calling card and are the same price point of a bottle of wine! Yep- you heard me. Can we all agree that this is one of the best business ideas we’ve heard of in a long time?! I’ve ordered quite a few of Anne’s gifts on my own and they are as well-crafted as they are beautiful- here are a few of my favorites that I both have and have given as gifts. They are also wonderful Mother’s Day ideas!

Although we’re living in a scary time, these days of social distancing will end and we’ll be wanting to entertain and visit friends and family more than ever. So what better time to support such a wonderful small business and make sure we’re prepared when we can finally cheers our friends in person and can come bearing not only a hug, but a thoughtful and heartfelt gift.
