Today is the day! It’s my birthday, but it also marks the official launch of the new collection from Society Social and interior designer Ariel Okin. I’ve been in countdown mode for this collection and although I’m not the namesake, there’s even a chair called the Sophie! The collaboration is an impeccably curated collection for your home from upholstery to case goods that have traditional lines but also include a modern twist, like pops of color and the inclusion of natural materials such as grasscloth or rattan. What’s not to love?! For the past few years I’ve felt there was a huge gap in the market for non-trade only items that were accessible to homeowners who have classic decor sensibilities and are looking for traditional pieces with fresh updates- and the Society Social X Ariel Okin collection is such a beautiful the answer to this gap!
The collection offers an array of styles, from an upholstered sofa inspired by Bunny Mellon’s legendary Antigua estate, to a grasscloth upholstered coffee table taking cues from the lines of Karl Springer’s iconic furniture, and a handmade rattan bookcase conceived with shelf height in mind, to house both books and objets beautifully. It all comes together for a beautiful balance of relaxed and refined, collected yet sophisticated and I want it all!
With every purchase, Society Social will donate a portion of sales to No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit that addresses food insecurity among children—including children who are not getting meals at school right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Fenimore Grasscloth Coffee Table is my personal favorite and it’s safe to say I’m lusting for it in the natural color. Another great thing about this table is you can have it customized in any Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams color match. The Charlie Pillow is another one of my favorites, inspired by the artwork of Dawn Wolfe.
You can find the entire collection here or below. I hope you love the collection as much as I do and can’t wait to see the pieces in your homes!
