Designer Spotlight: Elena Phillips

Designer Spotlight: Elena Phillips

If you follow me on Instagram then you know from yesterday’s post that I’ve been looking forward to sharing today’s Designer Spotlight. I’ve admired the work of Connecticut interior designer Elena Phillips for quite some time and am delighted to be featuring her work with you today! Whether decorating a chic, New York pied-à-terre with hand painted wallpaper and tonal hues or designing a cheerful, family friendly Colonial with pops of color, Phillips’ “new traditional” interiors are a beautiful balance of traditional and modern elements.

After graduating from The New York School of Interior Design, Phillips began her career in New York City, working for renowned firms David Kleinberg Design Associates and Cullman & Kravis before starting her own firm Elena Phillips Interiors, eight years later. The versatility of her portfolio and her impressive ability to tailor her designs to a wide range client aesthetics and lifestyles is an endless source of inspiration.

One of my personal favorite projects of Phillips’ is her Indian Springs project. Plenty of pattern play and cheerful contemporary accents such as chevron barstools and globe pendants are set against a backdrop of clean lines and serene palettes. The rooms are traditional in nature but embody joyful, stylish and comfortable family living. I’ve included a few highlights below and you can also find entire project here.

More Portfolio Highlights

Phillips also has so many other beautiful designs that are slightly more on the traditional side and I wanted to be sure to share those as well to demonstrate what I mean when I say she has incredible range. From blue and white family rooms and elegant dining rooms to serene bathrooms fitted with clawfoot tubs, each room is prettier than the last!
