Home Tour: Slip Away to Oyster Bay

Happy Monday! Every now and then I find myself ready to get a jump start on a new week, but more often or not I find myself stumbling instead of jumping back into our Monday routine. If you are anything like me then you know sometimes a little bit of procrastination helps and what better way to ease into a Monday, than with a tour of a gorgeous home?

This Long Island Neo-Colonial is nestled along the shoreline of Oyster Bay and was decorated by reknown New York interior designer, Marietta Himes Gomez.  Gomez’ work has been featured in The New York Times, House Beautiful, Architectural Digest, Architectural Record, and Town & Country and she describes her aesthetic as “modernist with a luxurious approach.”  When I first stumbled upon this home, what struck me was Gomez’ ability to pair clean lines and minimalistic elements with beautiful antiques and harmonious pairings. The result is a breath taking home that is elegant, chic and welcoming with interiors that are as impressive as the views.

P.S. To see the full tour of this home you can find it here in the  March 2017 edition of Architectural Digest.
